Luckily for those folks there are plenty of alternatives available with freezer safe glass containers being the most obvious choice. These glass containers are oven safe plus they re good for both refrigerator and freezer storage.

Freezer containers can be made up of plastic or glass. The size you buy mostly depends on what your purpose of storage is. Do they get a bit of freezer burn without being individually wrapped in plastic. Plastic still dominates in the freezer where ziploc bags and plastic wrap are easy solutions for sealing nutrients and moisture in food and protecting from freezer burn.

But it does not alter the flavor unless they are in there for a long time. I also freeze muffins quinoa bites and more in my 6 cup glass storage containers. While freezer safe plastic bags and containers can keep air from reaching your food they are not a good choice for those who are trying to get plastic out of their lives. We eat within a month.

The glass containers are heavy duty and durable but prone to chipping cracking or breaking when dropped accidentally.
